A Hurricane Wedding and a Bright Sunny Wedding all in one Weekend
We had the pleasure of assisting two Brides this past weekend at the Bella Collina Mansion. One during the outer remnants of hurricane Matthew and the other on a bright and sunny Sunday.
On Saturday, our first Bride Jenna based her floral theme and decor on the ever popular movie “Practical Magic”.
Her dark, classic, and elegant visions came to life as we combined white Oriental lilies, “Black Magic” mini callas, white crystal mini callas and white dendrobium orchids. The original plan was for an outside wedding but due to the wrath of Hurricane Matthew, we transferred everything indoors while the rain and wind pounded on the large paneled windows in the lower ballroom as you can see in the below images.
Our second wedding on Sunday was completely the opposite. It was a bright and sunny day since Matthew seemed to slip out of the area in the early morning hours. It was very eerie how the first wedding’s colors seemed to reflect the outside weather and then on Sunday, the bright sun mirrored the vibrant fall colored roses that splashed against turquoise and purple gowns.
Jessica’s floral vision was traditional fall with leaves, pumpkins, natural branches, burlap and lace. We even integrated a few hay bales into the mix that helped to achieve a real down home feel. I was able to stay for the ceremony which was held on the upper exterior deck that overlooks Belews Lake. The entire event was so beautiful and full of love that it could be felt by everyone attending, myself included.
Congratulations to Jessica & Mark, and also to Jenna & Shawn.
